Ifc-mBomb shows the way to saving £millions. Improving information flow within the construction and design process will save the commercial/infrastructure sector many millions of pounds according to the developers of the Ifc-mBomb (IFC Model Based Operation and Maintenance of Buildings). The project, jointly sponsored by the DTI and industry in association with the UK Chapter of the IAI (International Alliance for Interoperability), aims to improve information flow throughout the design/construction process and into project handover. It is now nearing completion and will reach the fourth and final milestone during the summer, with an open demonstration of the principles of improved handover, a final report and conference presentations.
